WHMIS Revisions Are Coming! How to Maintain Compliance and Prepare for Changes

MARCH
23rd
11:00am ET

On December 19, 2020, the Government of Canada published Canada Gazette, Part I, Volume 154, Number 51 containing Health Canada’s proposed amendments to the Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR). These latest amendments seek to align Canada’s Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) with the seventh revised edition of the UN’s Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). That means that changes impacting parties throughout the entire chemical supply chain will be coming after a final rule is published. Is your business prepared?

This webinar will review WHMIS 2015 requirements as they are today, including management of safety data sheets (SDSs), labels, and workforce education and training. We'll also take a look at the proposed rule, discuss some of the major changes it would bring, and look at best practices your business can take to meet your regulatory obligations, improve your hazard communication practices, and prepare for the upcoming alignment with GHS Revision 7.

Attendees will learn:

  • Labeling and SDS requirements under WHMIS 2015
  • Proposed changes that would accompany alignment with GHS Rev 7
  • Best practices to maintain compliance and improve chemical management"
