LIVE WEBINAR
Keeping Up With EHS Management Tasks During COVID-19 and Beyond

DECEMBER
10th
2pm SYD / 4pm NZ

Many EHS professionals have been finding that COVID-19 is almost completely monopolizing their time and attention, especially since restarting work activies began, and introduced new regimens of employee temperature checks, disinfecting of common work areas, and physical distancing measures. But has our attention shifted so much toward managing the "new normal" that we're overlooking or deprioritzing key EHS tasks? And have we overlooked changes we've made to some of our job tasks, which may have created new ergonomics risks and require us to update the associated job safety analyses (JSAs?)

There is some evidence that this has been happening. For example, in the US, OSHA has recently stated that employee whistleblower complaints were up by over 30% during early months of the pandemic, compared with the same time frame in 2019. In Australia, the federal government and each state and territorial government have authorized a broad range of practices, and Safe Work Australia has emphasized the importance of daily workplace cleaning and disinfecting -- measures that add more to the already long "to do" lists of EHS professionals. We continue to hear directly from many people in the EHS industry about their challenges managing tasks such as inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions while also managing new responsibilities needed to align with federal and state guidelines for managing COVID. Meanwhile, multiple sources are also indicating greater reported levels of depression and related behaviors, such as substance abuse, among workers, which creates additional risks.

This webinar will help EHS managers, particularly those in Australia and the Asia Pacific region, to stay focused by discussing specific challenges they may be facing, strategies for better managing their workload, and ways that technology can help.

In this webinar, you'll learn about:

  • Challenges affecting safety during the pandemic, including reduced staff available for job tasks, temperature check requirements, and new chemicals entering the workplace

  • Guidance and requirements related to COVID-19, including those issued by the Australian government and its states and territories, and guidelines from Safe Work Australia

  • Ergonomics risks caused by physical deconditioning while workers are on reduced schedules

  • Difficulties accessing SDSs and maintaining up-to-date chemical inventories

  • Ways to overcome challenges in risk management, including ability to get visibility of risk controls and how many controls they have in place, whether there are any duplicate controls, and verification that controls are working

  • How modern EHS software lightens your workload by facilitating sharing of responsibilities among your workers, and gives you good visibility of data to drive better decision making.
